HELP NEEDED! We currently have more seniors that are in need of help this winter than we have volunteers. Our most pressing need is volunteers that are able to help with snow removal: shoveling, snow blowing, & plowing. However, we also have a senior who will be getting released from the hospital soon who could really use some assistance with grocery shopping and emptying his cat litter box. Please call Faith in Action at 715-682-4414 ext 3 to get signed up.

"A new study showcases how recent advances in statistical learning could help to revitalize the global fight against extreme poverty. It estimates that simply providing direct income transfers sufficient to lift almost everyone above the $2.15/day poverty line would cost just 0.3% of global GDP. This offers one simple and surprisingly affordable path toward eradicating poverty."

"A new survey, “Social Connection in America™,” conducted by a team of researchers led by Professor Julianne Holt-Lunstad, and funded by the Barnes Family Foundation, provides a new nationwide picture of how Americans relate to one another. The “Social Connection in America™” survey was developed as a tool to provide insight and long-term direction regarding the country’s social connections. It will run for 25 years and aligns with numerous federal data sources, providing policymakers with social connection metrics that can be tracked alongside the country’s physical and mental health metrics.

Unfortunately, the results of this year’s survey of over 10,000 US adults were troubling: 41 percent of adults say they feel lonely at least sometimes, and almost three-quarters say they get together with people they care about face-to-face only twice a month or less."

This approach supports people and families’ ability to thrive, increases broadly shared prosperity, and remains a necessary precondition for a growing United States economy and healthy democracy. For these reasons, care policy is widely and deeply supported by the public.1"

Executive Summary A better, more affordable country for all of us is possible, within reach, and necessary if we are to secure a brighter future for
