Just finished my labor comfort measures class with my client and her partner! I am so in love with informing my clients and making them feel like they can go into their birth with so much confidence! I am so in love with birthwork! Birthwork is truly my calling!

The shower is a powerful ally of the woman in labor. It helps the woman to relax, bringing more efficient contractions and relief, along with wonderful endorphins.

Theres no right or wrong time to take advantage of this feature. When it's harder to deal with the "waves", you can stand, sit, kneel, squat, etc. Only your body will know to tell you what will be best for you in your labor!

The feeling of protection in that shower box (like a nest) also helps some women ...

Generally, we recommend leaving a gap open from the door or bathroom window to the circulate air and so you do not lower your pressure.

Happy World Doula Week! ✨This picture pretty much sums up why I have had to take a bit of a break from birth work! Since my last post I have made some huge life changes. I have made a cross country move from Los Angeles, CA to Arlington, VA and I’m PREGNANT! My husband and I are so excited for this new chapter in our lives! ✨

I will be back supporting birthing folks in the Washington metropolitan area DMV ( District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) as soon as I am healed from my own birth! I hope to be back supporting birth & postpartum clients in the Fall/winter months and I will post my availability in the next few months! ✨

Thank you so much for your continued support as I make this transition into motherhood! Until then let’s celebrate all of the doulas of the world! ✨
