The American Cancer society recommends starting regular mammograms in your 40’s for early detection of breast cancer.

Ages 40-44: Women may choose to begin annual screening, or have the option to start every other year.

Ages 45-54: Annual screening mammograms are generally recommended.

Ages 55 and older: Women can choose to continue annual screening, or transition to every two years.

Under 40? Talk to your mother, sister, cousin, auntie!

Celebrating Black History Month:
🩷Honoring Dr. Regina Hampton🩷

Breast Care for Washington proudly celebrates Black History Month by recognizing the incredible contributions of Black women physicians, including our very own powerhouse, Dr. Regina Hampton.

Dr. Hampton is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in breast cancer surgery at Doctors Community Hospital in Prince George’s County. Ranked as one of the Top Doctors in the Washington D.C. area, she is a trailblazer in breast health and a fierce advocate for equitable, compassionate care.

Her dedication to educating women about breast cancer and treatment options ensures that all women—especially Black women, who are disproportionately affected by breast cancer—receive the support they deserve.
