💗✨ WORKSHOP ALERT! ** I’m so stoked to be co-facilitating a new workshop with on Sunday, September 29th @ 3pm!

We’re joining forces in the name of self-care to bring you a blend of yoga and somatics. Our hope is that you’ll leave with some new tools that allow you to connect with your body so that you can feel more grounded — especially when things get a little unsteady.

🍂 Why now? Because seasonal shifts and back-to-the-grind transitions (among other things) can be taxing on our nervous systems.

😇 What to expect: I’ll be leading a mindful yoga flow while Allie gives us an intro to somatics and shares self-care techniques that can be used both on and off the mat.

Get all the details and sign up through the link in my bio or the website.

I was super intimidated by this bike when I first got it. (But, had shockingly few reservations about doing arm balances on top of it 💁‍♀️)

I went from a Yamaha Virago 250cc (which I loved!) to a Harley Davidson Nightster 1200cc. It was a huge increase in power. At that point I was white knuckling it around the parking lot. I could not have fathomed that I would be riding it across country, solo, a few years later.

That’s the thing with, well, everything though. You start somewhere and it all feels horribly daunting, and then one day you look back and you’re like wow, I rock!

These experiences are not without it’s twists, turns, and set-backs though. It’s all part of the journey 🙄💗

If you’re up for a personal journey, join the upcoming Road Trip Yoga Challenge! 🙂

Like any good road trip, this challenge is NOT about everything going "as planned". It's about carving time out for yourself, keeping an open mind, and embracing what unfolds before you (and within you).

Day 16 - Viva Las Vegas! 🏁 🎉🙌

Holy s%@ #! We made it.

This has been such a meaningful journey for me on a personal level, and it’s been so cool to be able to share it with you as well. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of your support & encouragement as I rode into the unknown.

I left seeking adventure, and will return with plenty of that, as well as a whole new perspective on, and appreciation for, life and the world around me.

I chose to end my trek in Vegas because it’s also meaningful to me. It’s over-the-top, ridiculous, exhilarating - and unapologetic as such. My friends and I used to make an annual pilgrimage here. My family tree includes card players and gamblers, and I’ve enjoyed rolling the dice, watching boxing matches, and celebrating birthdays here over the years as well. Vegas is a place that forces you to decide where your boundaries are, and boundaries are my new favorite thing to explore and define (thanks therapy!)

All the love and gratitude. I encourage you to explore the things that make you feel more alive as well.

Thanks for riding with me!

Day 15 - 🙄✨ Letting Go.

I’m feeling possessive today. For much of the beginning of the trip a voice inside my head kept taunting me with all of the potential setbacks and issues I might face — “what if ____ goes wrong” and “what if you don’t make it?” Suddenly, I find myself desperately wanting to rewind the clock, or at least freeze time. I’m enjoying it all too much right now. I don’t want it to end.

It occurs to me while riding that everything in life is a grief cycle. Things are here, and then they’re not, and it all gets processed at different speeds depending on how deeply you are effected by the experience.

It’s so rewarding to be present in the moment, but that also means you have to let go of what just happened a second ago, and the second before that — even if it’s the best thing ever. Letting go is not my strong suit.

As I do my best to try, I’m surprised to find that there is still so much cool stuff to see on the road before me. I start to accept the fact that I’m so lucky to have experienced any of this at all, and that no one is telling me that I can’t come back and do it again.

I reach my destination for the day as the temps creep up to 109*. I prep for my last day on the road. Anxiety comes a’knocking. I do some Yin. Journal. Listen to some crunchy, meditative tunes. Set my alarm for 5:30am and doze off way faster than I expect to.

Day 14 - 🌄😳🫠 This is your brain on nature …

Some days it feels like you truly do possess the power to manifest things. (Both good and not so good.) I spot a small sign for yoga on my way to get gas. I show up and offers an amazing restorative, grounding practice (my current fave) and speaks all the words I can’t find right now into existence.

I head out onto Rte 12 with high expectations from the days before — only to be exceded again & again.

As manifestation works both ways, ruminating about tire issues turns into a real thing when my front tire decides to fully deflate and no longer hold air. I try some knee jerk solutions. Troubleshoot. Take a deep breath. Step back. Realize that I have the parts I need and am very luckily located at a gas station that has an air hose at the pump I am parked at. 🙌

Back on the road I continue to have my mind blown. I reach my destination and head into Bryce Canyon National Park.

My eyeballs don’t know how to compute what I’m seeing. I can’t find words. I sit to meditate for the first time since stating this trip (which I hate to admit, but that’s how it goes).

My heart is full. My head is scrambled. I’m tired, but don’t want this day to end because that means there are only 2 days left for me on the road.

Day 13 - Utah! 🤯❤️‍🔥

I have been daydreaming about riding in Utah for years. It’s even better than my daydreams though, because you really can’t make this stuff up.

Also, my travel research style is 1) daydream, 2) look up just enough to know I’m heading in the right direction, 3) find out everything else when I get there.

I feel so small next to these giant rocks. My creative brain that loves lines, squiggles, and patterns is on overload. My bike feels like she’s just as stoked to be here.

The colors and shapes shift as I snake my way down Route 24 towards Torrey, UT and I am once again blown away by the sheer magnificance of it all.

I sit on my little porch until the sun goes down at 9pm staring into the crazy landscape all around me.

I got to bed both exhausted and antsy as hell to get back on the road again tomorrow.

Day 12 - 🤠 🏔️ On the road again!

It was hard to say goodbye to the fam, but the road was beckoning me.

As a Cancer ♋️ I’m used to big emotions, but I was unprepared for the way it felt to ride through the Rockies. I’d been on sections of these roads in a car before, (which was a great) but this was something else.

I’m chilly enough that my hands go numb as I climb with snow-capped peaks on the horizon. The roads twist & turn and things heat up again as I descend into big hugs from cozy canyons. I flow alongside the river as people float in it beside me. I realize that ski resorts are actually lush and green beneath it all.

My GoPro gets covered in bugs & dies so I am forced to be fully present if I want to remember.

I reach my riding goal for the day as the temps near 100, but if you’d asked me to turn around and do it all over again I would have.

Days 9-11: 🥳🥰🥹 40!

I’m still having a hard time believing that I’m riding my motorcycle across the US, that I actually made it to Colorado by my birthday, and that this is what 40 years old feels like.

I used to think it was an ancient age, but honestly I feel like I’m just getting started, or at least that there’s soooo much more to look forward to.

I’m grateful beyond words for all of the experiences I’ve had and all of the amazing people I have been lucky enough to share them with.

I love you all from the bottom of my heart. 💗

I spend the next few days reflecting, relaxing, and not riding my motorcycle to do all of the fun things in Colorado.

I feel refreshed, refueled, and ready to see where this journey takes me next.

Day 8 -🌦️⚙️🥰 Surprise!

I’ve given up “planning” at this point, but I still hold space for hope. Today my big dream (feels less jinx-y to say it that way) was to lay down some miles and get to Lakewood, CO a day early so that I could wake up on my birthday with my family.

Mother Nature and I were dance partners once again, although this time she spared me the heat and instead threw threatening, and very real, thunderstorms at me all the way from Oklahoma, into New Mexico, and up through Colorado.

It was a day of intense focus and short pit stops, but I MADE IT. My family was there to welcome me in with cheers and a few tears. I wouldn’t have had it any other way 🥰🥹💗

Day 7 - 🔥🌪️ We’re not in Kansas anymore!

I had originally planned to spend the next 2 days just surviving the long, desolate stretches of Kansas. Thanks to my restless intuition, drama-filled local weather reports, and a tip from my Uber driver, I decided to ditch that plan and head through Oklahoma instead.

I’m so glad I did. The ride will be a few hours longer, but has more towns, more gas stations, and more things to stumble upon, like the pioneering vibes of Gloss Mountain National Park, which I just happened to drive right through.

I am once again reminded that Mother Nature is boss, and I stop in a small-ish town 3/4 of the way across the state to power down and recharge.

👀 See my story and highlights for more info & the rest of my trip so far!
