Through my doctoral studies, I’ve centered my research on culturally-attuned mobile health technology to improve outcomes for Black women and the diaspora. This recent interview was special to me not only as a testament to the growth of in the mental health sector, but reinforced the gap in data/research specific to racial and ethnic minorities that practitioners, like me, hope to fill.

Apologizing for many of us requires humbling ourselves to take accountability and recognize that we are, in fact, imperfect.
Maybe we didn’t see apologizing much in our family dynamic, or if you’re like me— your parent didn’t apologize, they just asked if you’re hungry and carried on like nothing happened.
