• Push snow when possible, don’t lift
• Keep the shovel close to your body
• Avoid twisting, turn with your feet
• Take breaks, fatigue causes injuries
• Switch sides often to stay balanced
• Use smaller loads, more reps
• Stretch after, not just before
• Stay upright, no rounded backs
• Wear shoes with grip to avoid slips
• Pace yourself, it’s not a race
• Stop if your back starts aching
