Join Us for a live interview with Michael Egharevba, B. Pharm, MBA, MPH - Senior Global Health Pharmacist, Technical Advisor, Health Systems Expert, and a Health Workforce Specialist.
This year's WHO theme for World Patient Safety Day is Medications Without Harm. We will discuss about the challenges and innovations in promoting patient safety in health care - particularly in the context of medication safety. If not for medications in public health, we wouldn't have increased human longevity or have eradicated some diseases in human history. But those same medications are causing harm in today's world - spanning from opioid abuse to antibiotic misuse to polypharmacy.
Michael is a Pharmacist with over 10 years of experience in international public health, 2 years in humanitarian program and over 20 years in pharmaceutical care. He is both licensed in the US (Maryland) and Nigeria (West Africa) as a Pharmacist. He is vast in program management, system design and implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health programs which include Essential Medicines, Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Maternal Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), especially in resource-limited settings. Other areas of strength include Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Capacity Building. He is an experienced public health supply chain professional with excellent technical management skills. He is experienced working with diverse teams, developing strategy and interpreting complex data for innovative solutions
We're excited to interview him and share latest knowledge/trends in this subject. We will distinguish challenges that formerly colonized vs. developed countries face. And most importantly, what's your part in promoting patient safety! Everyone plays a role! Welcome!
