Meet Ashlee, a Licensed Master Esthetician with 8 years of experience and who is a proud advocate for skin of color. Her passion is helping people love and nurture the skin they’re in through science, care, and a personal touch.

A few fun facts from Ashlee:
*I specialize in treatments that celebrate and protect melanin rich skin.
*I’m also in nursing school, working toward becoming an aesthetic nurse practitioner.
*Im a reiki master teacher and energy healer
*Outside of work and school, you’ll probably find me singing my heart out at karaoke!

I would have to say that though I love to do treatments, my greatest strength in and amongst the team is consult. I absolutely love meeting you, putting a plan together for you, introducing you to our services. I love finding new ways to communicate what we do, and what makes us different. To add insult to injury, in the wake of the massive trauma of losing my mother June 24, I aged ten years overnight.  And had a birthday.  Feeling at my absolute worst not only emotionally but also physically I decided to indulge in our services at an increased rate.  It might not fix everything, but if I might just get my neck to stop sliding off I might just feel a bit better.

So I had a DMK Muscle Banding, where three different Enzyme masks are layered to tone the muscles of the face and give an instant lift. I saw improvement and felt a bit better.  Then a week later…I got another.  This time MUCH better.  Really visible improvement.

And I am going to have another next week.  In fact, this is the way it’s supposed to be done.

I say often that DMK Enzyme is like a workout for your skin.  I also say your homecare and home treatments are like your home workouts, and in office treatment is like a personal training session.  It follows logically that the more you hit the gym, the faster your results will come.  In truth by design, if you really want to change your skin quickly I would recommend an Enzyme every two weeks…or even every week!

That’s right…you can’t overdo it.  This is because there is no “downtime” with an Enzyme, nothing to recover from.  Enzyme treatments strengthen your skin…improve muscle tone, increase lymph drainage, flush it with oxygen from the bottom to the top.  The more you do this - and the more often - the quicker your results will come.  Just like working out, each session builds upon the progress of the last and is cumulative.

For me it’s my neck and jowls, but it works for everything.  Acne, rosacea, pigment…you can not overdo Enzyme! Prior to my mother’s passing I was fascinated by the metamorphosis of motherhood. I’ve written about it in blogs over the years…it is truly a cellular transformation.

When I find out someone else is a mother I love to compare notes. I had a conversation recently with a woman who said “Your child is your cathedral”. What a brilliant metaphor I thought. A catherdral takes a lifetime to create. You might not ever see it’s completion. And yet you build anyway, rooted in pure devotion. Your love and blood are in every detail, which will last long beyond your time on this earth.

In the last year I have fallen in love somewhat unexpectedly, with charity. My charity often takes the form of helping another woman. Either as her mother, as now that channel is open in myself it flows freely outward to all. Or, if she is herself a mother, I want to lighten her load.

There is nothing worse I can imagine that losing my child, or not being able to protect and provide for him. And I see in the world many women exactly like myself forced into this role. Helping them is the only way I know to live now.

To this end, this week I am going to raffle off a service with myself for a Bespoke Facial. You can buy a single entry for $10, three for $20. You can buy multiples (six for $40 for example). Next Sunday we will draw a winner, and schedule you with for my return late August or beyond. And all proceeds will go to mothers who need it to survive, or to provide for their children.

I console myself that my charity is an investment in a world that is safer for my own child. I will also mention…many people who know about the charity I provide say they would like to offer the same, but are afraid due to the politics in our country.
