We’re often asked why we don’t take insurance.

The short answer is that it allows us to practice in a way that’s more sustainable, ethical, and flexible.

It means better work–life balance for clinicians, which reduces burnout and turnover.
It gives us the ability to offer pro bono care when it’s needed.
It allows for packages and flexible structures instead of rigid session limits.
And it makes it easier for clients to work with multiple providers who actually coordinate care.

Insurance works for some models.
This one works better for ours.

The goal is not to exclude people.
It’s to protect the quality, consistency, and humanity of the care.

Iesha is back and reopening her books for somatic yoga!

This isn’t power yoga.
It’s trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming movement designed to help your nervous system feel safe enough to participate.

No pushing. No “mind over matter.”
Just movement that meets you where you are.

Be blunt. Be funny. Be real. Your honesty matters more than your filter- this is your journey as much as it is ours.

I believe the therapeutic relationship begins with an honest, non-judgmental, and collaborative space, inviting my clients to be as real and candid as possible. I value open communication and provide my clients with as many tools and facts as possible to ensure trust in my work and in the therapeutic process. My approach is based on confronting the “real problem,” and delving deeper into the emotional and cognitive processes that otherwise hinder a full mind-body connection. I am comfortable working with a wide array of presentations, including but not limited to: trauma, gender/s*xuality, relationship difficulties, social adversity, depression, anxiety, compulsions/impulsivity, attentional difficulties, and pervasive maladaptive personality structures. I am also well-versed in the provision of psycho-diagnostic testing for a variety of disorders. As a therapist, I am s*x positive, an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, trans-affirming, s*x-worker affirming, kink positive, and I strive to create an atmosphere of cultural competence and humility. In my personal life, I enjoy dancing, meditation, martial arts, weight lifting, painting, spending time outdoors and with loved ones, and playing with my fur children 🐶🐱. Available to take on clients beginning September 21, 2020 at Capital Center for Psychotherapy and Wellness. Www.capitalpsychotherapy.com
