True sisterhood is more than friendship, it’s finding your tribe. It’s those moments where you sit in a circle, share what’s really on your heart, and feel seen, heard, supported, and transformed by the wisdom and love around you. When you have people who genuinely care, who hold space for your deepest thoughts, your whole life shifts. 💫

And remember: there are still soulmates, best friends, and heart-people out there that you haven’t even met yet. Be open, be expectant, and stay excited, because today could be the day you meet your greatest friend, your sister, your brother, or even the love of your life. 🤍

Have a beautiful day

Harissa-Roasted Aubergine with Creamy Cannellini Mash & Sumac Onions.

Absolutely stunning dish with a huge hit of fibre, B vitamins, zinc....and above all flavour.
Ingredients
* 1 large aubergine, halved lengthways
* 1 tosp olive oil
* 1 tosp rose harissa paste
* Pinch of sea salt
For the cannellini mash:
* 1 tosp olive oil
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 1 × 400g tin cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
* Juice of ½ lemon
* 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (or more to loosen)
* Sea salt and pepper, to taste
For the sumac onions:
* ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
* ½ tsp sumac
* Juice of ½ lemon
* Pinch of salt

Method
* Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
• Score the aubergine halves in a criss-cross pattern, then rub with olive oil, harissa and a pinch of salt.
2 Place cut side up on a baking tray and roast for 30-35 minutes until tender and caramelised.
@ Warm olive oil in a pan over low heat. Add the garlic and gently sauté until fragrant but not browned. Add the cannellini beans, lemon juice, and almond milk. Cook for a few minutes to warm through, then mash or blend until smooth and creamy. Season to taste.
Toss the sliced red onion with lemon juice, sumac and salt. Let sit for 10 minutes to soften and lightly pickle.
@ Spoon the mash onto plates, top with the roasted aubergine, and scatter over the sumac onions.
* Drizzle with any harissa oil left on the tray. Optionally finish with a few torn mint leaves or a drizzle of plant-based yoghurt.

I love this important post raising awareness from who say:

Our Black moms are suffering, and we deserve more than just acknowledgment; we deserve real change.

44% of us experience postpartum depression. This isn’t just a statistic, it’s a call to action. We need to ensure that Black mothers have the support, care, and resources they need throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Here’s what we can do:
👉🏾Demand better care
👉🏾Push for policy change
👉🏾Create supportive spaces
👉🏾Educate ourselves and others

Emotional health plays a huge part in physical health and one thing I’m learning more and more as time goes by is the importance of understanding and setting your personal boundaries.

Swipe along and enjoy this lovely post by the wonderful from who says:

“You’re not a pushover!

People pleasing running deeper than just being ‘easy going’ or always being the ‘yes girl’.
This is biology. This roots down into the levels of your unconscious. Into the very primal drive to belong.

So of course, it’s often the ‘behaviour’ that seems to hang around despite all the healing and work we’ve done.

Remember that healing doesn’t always look how it is painted here on IG - it’s not you setting a boundary then flicking your hair over your shoulder and laughing your way into the sunset.
Actually it’s often you gently swaying and activating your vocal chords as you say “I can’t commit to that sorry, I’m at capacity” - then feeling a surge of guilt - then popping to the bathroom for 2 minutes to place your hand over your tender heart and whisper “it’s okay sweetie, we’re aloud to speak our truth” to your young, scared part that is worried about the repercussions.”

PERIMENOPAUSE AWARENESS!

A super informative post from the amazing who wrote: ⬇️

👉 Most women enter perimenopause with no roadmap and no warning. And that silence has consequences.

Perimenopause isn’t just about your period stopping. It’s a transition that can last 4–10 years, with over 30 recognized symptoms from mood changes, brain fog, and anxiety to joint pain, sleep problems, and heart palpitations. These shifts happen because estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone no longer follow a steady rhythm. Instead, they spike, dip, and swing, changing how the brain and body function.

Here’s why this matters: research shows nearly 70% of women feel blindsided by perimenopause. Too many are misdiagnosed with depression, handed a sleeping pill, or told “this is just aging.” Awareness is the first step to better care, stronger advocacy, and healthier relationships.

Tell one friend, sister, or coworker: “September is Perimenopause Awareness Month. Did you know there are more than 30 possible symptoms, and it can last nearly a decade?” Normalizing the conversation helps us all.

❤️Share this with the women in your life.

✅ Follow for science-backed tools to make this transition easier on you and your marriage.

…blog post continued…

Do you imagine your blood pressure going up? Or do you start to feel really agitated and angry? Anxious? Perhaps feeling emotional is a better description? Are you exhausted yet you can’t go to sleep or stay asleep?

Any or all of these symptoms could be a sign of being stressed out! The release of cortisol, your stress hormone, impacts your body in many ways and, over time, depletes it of nutrients.

What we call stress is a normal part of our body’s processing. When we encounter a stressful situation, our body immediately releases chemicals and hormones to help us handle the situation.

In response to these ‘life-threatening’ situations, our body releases our primary stress hormone, cortisol, which increases our blood pressure and our heart rate, increases the amount of glucose in our body, and increases our mental alertness.

Our stress hormones are designed to be released quickly, act quickly, and then dissipate. This release of cortisol also reduces other hormones and chemicals that ordinarily would help keep us calm and able to rest or sleep.

In our current society, we are more likely to find ourselves getting stressed about things that we do not have control over.

Feeling out of control can emotionally affect us in the same way as a life-threatening event. Our bodies react in the same way, releasing cortisol and stress hormones.

This creates overuse of the stress response, which over time begins to rob our body of nutrients, minerals and the building blocks for our hormones.

We begin to have symptoms like constant fatigue, exhaustion, sleep deprivation, weight gain, high blood pressure and pre-diabetes.

Emotionally we may feel depressed or anxious. We may be constantly quick to anger or frustration.

How do we treat the cause? Quit our jobs and move to the countryside? While that might be nice, we aren’t even able to do that during this time.

We treat the cause by getting the right testing to uncover our hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies.

Contact us to learn more about our testing options and regain true control of your mental, emotional and physical health.

An excellent and super helpful post by who says:

Your symptoms aren’t random…

They’re a reflection of your blood sugar, hormones, and stress response all working together (or not).

I used to think getting hanger was normal..
Or that needing caffeine at 3PM was just part of .

But the real issue? Blood sugar rollercoasters I didn’t even know I was on 🎢

Once I started eating protein first, stopped skipping meals, and actually paid attention to my blood sugar curve…
→ my mood stabilized
→ I slept so much better
→ and those sugar cravings disappeared

You don’t need to do it all overnight. Start where you are, with what you have.
