just as doing one’s own shadow work is an essential component of healing, addressing the shadow side of sisterhood is equally as important. there is such great value in being honest with yourself about the times you’ve experienced hurt, disappointment, feelings of abandonment, mistrust, and not feeling safe with other women, as well as the times where you may have hurt, disappointed, abandoned, created mistrust and not been a safe space with the women in your life.
this is one of the reasons i believe creating safe spaces for women and providing an opportunity to redefine sisterhood is a such a critical part of our individual and collective healing journey.
sacred sisterhood teaches us how to show up in our own lives and the lives of others with accountability and shared responsibility. this isn’t about becoming besties or even friends with every woman you encounter, but rather choosing to see her as your reflection, your opposite, and your window in all of her glory and imperfections, worthy of love and respect. this is part of how we practice being in and building community.
the mocha moon sacred circle is a 9-month rites of passage and initiation journey designed for women to be seen, held, witnessed, and heard during a process of unlearning, re-membering and returning home to themselves. open your heart and mind to the possibility of a new experience with women and in doing so, becoming a fuller version of yourself.
