Welcome to the new, expanded Family Health and Birth Center!
Community of Hope’s Family Health and Birth Center moved to 2120 Bladensburg Road to Washington DC's Langdon neighborhood in March 2022.
We are excited about this move and the opportunities our new location will bring to our dedicated team and patients. Our new space has more than doubled in size – allowing us to grow with our patient community.
We improve health for the whole family through medical care and emotional wellness.

Help Community of Hope vaccinate our community for COVID-19!
Community of Hope (COH) is seeking licensed medical professionals (e.g. MAs and RNs) as well as Nursing students to help vaccinate our DC neighbors. Volunteers will help with various steps in the vaccination process including administering shots, monitoring patients, and discussing medical histories and medications with patients. COH will provide training, PPE, and necessary supervision.
We are recruiting volunteers who can commit to a minimum of one (1) 4-hour shift per week for 6-8 weeks. Vaccinations take place at our Conway Health & Resource Center (Ward 8), Family Health and Birth Center (Ward 5), and Marie Reed Health Center (Ward 1) on Monday-Friday from 8:15am-4:30pm.
Please fill out this form if you are interested in participating in this opportunity, and our team will get back with you about the next steps.

Congratulations Ebony Renee and Community of Hope Family Health and Birth Center!
“The first $20 million investment, made in partnership with The Harbor Bank of Maryland, City First Bank and Partners for the Common Good, will provide critical funds to Community of Hope for the purchase, renovation and expansion of the Family Health and Birth Center. The facility—which will annually provide more than 5,800 patients with medical, dental and behavioral health services—is the only medical establishment with a labor and delivery unit serving the Northeast and Southeast quadrants of D.C. and helps nearly 400 women per year with prenatal care.”
A huge congratulations to Community of Hope's Family Health and Birth Center! As part of JPMorgan's newly announced racial equity initiatives, the Washington, D.C. birth center will receive a $20 million investment for renovation and expansion.

We are so proud of our Director of Midwifery at Community of Hope’s Family Health and Birth Center, Ebony Marcelle, for her leadership and continued advocacy for the moms that we serve. As a former Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program Fellow 18’, Ebony was featured in a Center for Health Worker Innovation article, “Working Towards Social Justice Through Midwifery and Black Maternal Health Advocacy.”
Marcelle explains, “Cultural congruency is an important factor in helping folks feel safe” She further states, “If a clinic doesn’t create spaces for people to be seen and doesn’t have providers that patients feel comfortable with, then it doesn’t matter that the clinic exists. To engage in care, considerations need to be made for patients to feel safe, to work on past traumas, to provide integrated behavioral health services. Having a baby and expanding the family is a huge milestone. Our midwifery model is designed to provide that space.”

Check out the work that Ebony Marcelle, CNM, MS, FACNM, of member center Family Health and Birth Center is doing to address structural racism as a public health issue and provide supportive care to those that need it most.

Did you give birth in 2017? Did you receive your prenatal care at the Family Health and Birth Center? If so, you might be eligible to participate in a 1-hour interview with a researcher who is interested in learning about how women choose where to receive prenatal care and give birth. Your perspective and experience can help other women receive the care they need and value. All eligible women who complete the interview and a brief survey will receive a $20 gift card in appreciation for their time. For more information please email
