Georgetown MS in Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences Program This page is intended to be a forum bringing together alumni, current students, prospective students, and faculty alike. Welcome IMHS Family!

The Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences (IMHS) Program is a scientifically sound, academically rigorous program that emphasizes the science of Physiology while offering students a broad insight into Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM). Georgetown University Medical Center’s Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences (IMHS) formerly Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Program was created in 2003 in response to a nation-wide NIH-funded educational initiative to incorporate CAM into medical and graduate school curricula. This program is focused on training students to objectively assess the safety and efficacy of various CIM modalities such as acupuncture, massage, herbs and supplements, and mind-body interactions and introducing scientific rigor to much-needed research in this field. Fans of this page are permitted to share, post, comment, like, flag, tag, upload videos and images, and converse with other fans and with content posted on this page with civility and respect. Alumni: feel free to comment on personal experiences of the program, favorite moments, and, most importantly, how this program has helped you in your careers. Also, please post any achievements or upcoming events related to this topic. Current and prospective students: feel free to post questions regarding the program and Washington DC, particularly those that you want addressed by past students of the program. The page will try to post any relevant material regarding this topic. Although comments, pictures, etc will be monitored; please be respectful in this forum. May 16th, 2024: The Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences Program celebrated our 20th anniversary and 20th graduating class with many notable alumni from the program coming to present.
Our students and their loved ones were then treated to an unforgettable dinner reception to celebrate the end of their time on campus ahead of their practicum course.
What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the semester for our students!

April 19th, 2024: The students had a warm welcome from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. They toured the facilities, learned about the programs available, and observed acupuncture being done on a client. It was easily a highlight of the semester for many students. Thank you VUIM!

April 9th-12, 2024: Some of our students volunteered at the Academic Consortium for Integrative Health’s yearly Congress event in Cleveland, OH! Students enjoyed talks from leaders and experts in multiple forms of integrative medicine, networked with other professionals (and some IMHS alumni!), and enjoyed the city of Cleveland in the process.
