Protect Patients Now/HCLA

Protect Patients Now/HCLA Protect Patients Now (PPN) is a national grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to reform of our nation’s broken medical liability system.

We are united in our strong belief that the current system is not in the best interests of patients – it costs too much, takes too long, and is unfair to deserving patients. In addition, a broken medical liability system threatens patient access to quality medical care. Protect Patients Now is a project of the Health Coalition on Liability and Access (HCLA) and is composed of organizations and ind

ividuals representing patients and health care consumers, physicians and health care providers, hospitals, insurers, business, and concerned citizens. We put patient safety and injury prevention first. Protect Patients Now believes that a reformed system would do a better job of protecting patients by promoting access and innovation. It would also discourage defensive medicine that costs billions. Protect Patients Now supports comprehensive federal medical liability reform based on efforts that have been proven to be effective in some states across the country. PPN wants to put more money in the hands of deserving patients and less money in the pockets of personal injury lawyers.
