Home Court DC

Home Court DC Home Court is an annual charity basketball game between Members of Congress and Georgetown Law faculty to benefit the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.

Home Court was established in 1987. In the fall of 1987, Georgetown University Law Center students, led by Jeff Schwaber, hatched the idea to hold a basketball game between Members of Congress and Georgetown Law faculty to raise money for an organization that advocates for and represents homeless families and individuals in the DC area. In March 1988, the first Home Court game raised $42,000 for the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless. Today, the annual Home Court basketball game continues to be the biggest and most exciting fundraiser for the Legal Clinic, raising more than $8.5 million through the generous support of our sponsors over the past 30 years. We hope that with your support, we can continue to help the Legal Clinic provide vital services to the homeless and near-homeless in the District.
