Welcome to another !

Fibroid Friday is the result of a collaboration between the Fibroid Foundation and to bring new and emerging fibroid research to those who should know about it first - women with fibroids and their doctors.

This week’s stories remind us how layered fibroid care really is, and what advocates like are doing to ensure fibroids care receives the attention it deserves.

Your doctor probably never asked you detailed questions about your period, and that’s part of the problem.

Heavy menstrual bleeding affects millions of women, but most of us have no idea how common it is because it’s rarely discussed.

We’re changing that. We’re ending the stigma by talking about heavy menstrual bleeding, and letting those who suffer from it know - you are not alone.

Wondering what to expect at Fibroid Summit 2026? Here’s a snippet.

We’ve spent months assembling the researchers tackling the questions that keep you up at night. This is what happens when a patient-led organization designs an event from the patient perspective.

Don’t miss your chance to be in the room where these important discussions are happening. Spaces are limited. Use the link in our bio to register now.

When faith communities stay silent about reproductive health, women internalize that silence as shame. Shame means waiting years before seeking medical help, and for many, by the time they’re seen a doctor, fibroids have caused real damage to their bodies.

When churches speak up, progress happens. Minds change, and people are spurred to action.

Ready to bring the conversation to your church?
The Fibroid Foundation has educational materials at fibroidfoundation.org, and ambasssdors who are willing to present at your church, women’s ministry, health fair, or Sunday service.

If you’d like to inquire about a Fibroid Foundation representative coming to your congregation to raise fibroid awareness, whether in person or virtually, reach out to us.

Share this post with your pastor or ministry leaders and let’s work together to make faith communities places where women’s health is taken seriously.

Research shows that heavy menstrual bleeding costs women academically, professionally, and personally, yet most suffer in silence.

Work, school and travel are just 3 areas where HMB affects women’s lives, and many are told that it’s a normal experience. We’re here to tell you that it certainly is not.

Heavy menstrual bleeding is costing women daily, and it’s time we treat this crisis with the care it deserves.

Fibroids deserve awareness every day, but ESPECIALLY on love day.
Here are a few shareable valentines to help us show love to our bodies, our community, and the knowledge that helps us advocate for better care. ❤️

Is your period heavier than it should be?

Chances are, if you think it is, it is. You’ve probably been told your heavy flow is “just how your body is” or “normal for you”. But what if it’s not?

If any of these signs resonate with you, it’s time to talk to your doctor. Track your symptoms, and demand answers. You deserve treatment that gives you your life back.

Let’s talk about what “Heavy Menstrual Bleeding” actually means.

If you’ve experienced it, odds are you’ve been told that your period is “just heavy” or that it’s “normal for you”. Medically, HMB has a specific definition, but the bottom line is this - if your period interferes with your physical, emotional, social or quality of life, you’re likely dealing with HMB.

Heavy bleeding affects 1 in 3 women, but too many of us suffer in silence because we think it’s “normal” or we’re too embarrassed to talk about it. But you don’t have to live like this.

Have you experienced heavy menstrual bleeding! When did you realize it wasn’t “normal”?
