Date: Thursday, September 18, 2025
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: WHL Towers Auditorium, Howard University Hospital

HUH COMMUNITY HEALTH SUMMIT & OPEN HOUSE RECAP🌟
Advancing Health Equity in the Nation’s Capital

City leadership, healthcare experts, and community leaders came together for a powerful two-day event focused on advancing health equity in our Nation’s Capital. It was an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, connect with the community, and showcase the impactful work we do at HUH.

On Friday, we were honored to welcome D.C. Council Members Kenyan McDuffie and Christina Henderson, who shared words of encouragement and the importance of community health partnerships. The day also featured a series of clinical and medical panels led by HUH experts, and WUSA9 spoke with HUH President Dr. Roger A. Mitchell Jr., for an interview on the purpose and goal of hosting a community health summit and open house.

On Saturday, the community came out for a day of free health screenings, physician meet-and-greets, a backpack giveaway for families, and guided hospital tours that opened our doors to neighbors and friends. đź’™

Thank you to our staff, partners, and community for making this event a true celebration of health, connection, and trust. Together, we are building a healthier D.C. 💪🏾✨
