ACT Raising Safe Kids

The ACT program research-based curriculum addresses basic information on child development; risk factors for violence and its consequences; anger management and conflict resolution skills; positive discipline strategies; information about the impact of electronic media on children and the importance of involvement in the community. The program curriculum is delivered by trained ACT Facilitators to groups of parents/caregivers in eight 2-hour weekly sessions held in a variety of settings. The program materials for Facilitators and parents/caregivers were developed with assistance from national experts, are in English and Spanish, and are available at www.actagainstviolence.org
Training of ACT Facilitators is conducted year round at the program five Regional Centers located in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, and West parts of the country.
