πŸŽ–οΈ Congratulations to Our President's Award Honoree!

We are proud to recognize Feseha Woldu at the Capital Healthcare Honor Awards β€” March 25, 2026 | National Press Club

Presented by MSDC President Dr. Matthew Lecuyer, the President's Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made a remarkable impact on DC healthcare β€” and Feseha Woldu is a truly deserving recipient.

As Vice President for Population Programs and Community Affairs at MedStar Health since 2015, Feseha has been at the forefront of transforming how healthcare is delivered to DC's most vulnerable communities. Through data-driven population health strategies, he has helped improve clinical outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and drive early detection and prevention of chronic conditions β€” all while keeping health equity at the center of the work.

His commitment to addressing health disparities and engaging underserved populations reflects the very best of what healthcare leadership looks like in our nation's capital.

The President's Award honors those whose impact on DC healthcare transcends traditional boundaries β€” and Feseha Woldu's work at MedStar Health is a shining example of that spirit.

Join us in celebrating his outstanding contributions to our community! Reserve your seat early β€” space is limited. https://www.msdc.org/events/2026/03/25/default-calendar/2026-capital-healthcare-honors

"

93% of patients say it’s important for their physician to be involved in diagnosis and treatment decisions. Yet increasingly, bureaucratic red tape is leaving physicians out of health care decisions.

Physicians and patients are finding themselves at the mercy of health insurer’s prior authorization approvals. MSDC is working to change the system – to get back to the way it should be so that patients and doctors can make the best health care decisions. Learn more about MSDC's Advocacy efforts

πŸ… Congratulations to Our Distinguished Service Award Honoree!

We are proud to recognize Dr. Charles P. Samenow, MD, MPH at the Capital Healthcare Honor Awards β€” March 25, 2026 | National Press Club

Dr. Samenow has dedicated his career to both his patients and the medical community in ways that go far beyond the exam room. A board-certified psychiatrist and associate professor at George Washington University, he has spent 15 years training the next generation of physicians while providing critical psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and veteran settings.

But his service to MSDC is what makes this recognition especially meaningful. As Chair of MSDC's Physician Health Committee, Dr. Samenow has been a tireless advocate for physicians facing their own health challenges β€” ensuring that the doctors who care for our community also receive the support they need.

His expertise in sexual health, addiction, and professional behavior has made him a respected voice locally, nationally, and internationally β€” and his work continues to shape how the medical community approaches physician wellness and accountability.

πŸ† The Distinguished Service Award honors a physician member for outstanding service to MSDC β€” and Dr. Samenow's contributions to our Society are immeasurable.

Join us in celebrating his commitment to medicine and to his fellow physicians!

πŸ“’ Introducing Our New MSDC Member Profile Series!

Meet Klint Peebles, MD, FAAD β€” our featured member this month!

Why did Dr. Peebles join MSDC?

"I joined MSDC because I believe organized medicine is strongest when physicians engage at all levels of policymaking, including locally, not just nationally. The District of Columbia presents unique regulatory and policy dynamics unlike that of any other state, and MSDC plays a critical role in ensuring physicians have a unified voice at the Council and agency level."
