Congratulations to DC's Medical Students on Graduation!

As DC's medical students graduate, we celebrate this important milestone that sets students on the path to becoming physicians.

It’s a meaningful reminder that caring for patients is at the heart of why physicians choose this calling – to heal, to serve, and to save lives. Congratulations to our newest resident physicians!

⚕️ Important Reminder for DC Physicians: Cancer Reporting Requirements

Are you reporting your patients' cancer diagnoses to the DC Cancer Registry?

Under DC Law, healthcare providers and facilities are required to report cancer diagnoses — including malignant cancers and benign brain/CNS tumors — within 6 months of diagnosis or first contact. This applies to private practice physicians too.

Non-compliance can result in financial penalties and misdemeanor charges.

Your reports help assess cancer incidence and mortality rates across the District, and ensure screening and preventive services reach the communities that need them most.

📋 Access the reporting form or contact DCCR Program Manager Alfreda Woods at alfreda.woods@dc.gov.
