Mental health isn’t something separate from the rest of your health; it’s the foundation. It impacts how we show up in relationships, how we respond to stress, how we care for our physical bodies, and how we find meaning in the day-to-day. It’s not just about the absence of illness, it’s about having the capacity to feel, to relate, to navigate life with some sense of steadiness.

If you’ve experienced trauma, you may have learned to survive in ways that kept you safe, but also left parts of you carrying weight that was never yours to hold. Prioritizing your mental health is not a luxury or a quick fix. It’s an ongoing practice of tending to what hurts, what matters, and what needs space to be seen.

Estás exactamente donde necesitas estar. 🌟

No estás atrasado/a y no estás fallando.

In a world that tells you to shrink, to conform, to be digestible; self-expression is often an act of resistance.

We are living through times that demand urgency, productivity, compliance.

Times where exhaustion is worn like a badge of honor, and where joy - deep, unapologetic joy - is too often dismissed as frivolous.

But in a world that tries to make you smaller, quieter, easier to categorize, choosing to express yourself fully is an act of defiance.

Self-expression isn’t just about what you create, it’s about how you move through the world, the way you take up space without apology.

It’s in the clothes you wear, the art you make, the way you speak your truth, even when your voice shakes.

It’s in choosing rest when the world glorifies burnout.

It’s in honoring the depth of your emotions when society tells you to numb them.

Let this be your gentle push towards putting more of you in this world.

Mental health isn’t just about what we heal from—it’s also about what we make space for. 💛✨

Yes, therapy, reflection, and inner work are important, but so is prioritizing joy, deep rest, movement, and meaningful connection. Mental health is also about the little moments that bring us peace—playing a game with a friend, stepping outside for fresh air, picking up a simple hobby just for fun. The things that restore us are just as essential as the things we work through.

What’s one small way you can care for your mental health that has nothing to do with fixing and everything to do with nurturing? 💭💛

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works by reprocessing memories through bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, tapping, or sound—to help the brain integrate past experiences in a healthier way. This process allows unresolved trauma to be processed so that it no longer triggers the same emotional distress.

EMDR follows an eight-phase approach, starting with history-taking and preparation before moving into the desensitization and reprocessing of traumatic memories. Many people find relief as negative beliefs are replaced with more adaptive perspectives, and distressing emotions lose their intensity.

If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by the past, EMDR may be worth exploring. 💛

Your body holds incredible wisdom. It communicates through feelings, sensations, and intuition, guiding you in ways that words cannot.

Pause and tune in: what is your body trying to tell you?

Whether it’s asking for rest, movement, nourishment, or simply to be heard, honoring its messages is a powerful act of self-care.

Trust the connection you have with yourself—your body always knows. 💙

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, but here are 5 simple options to start your search:

1️⃣ Search on Psychology Today Directory
This platform allows you to filter therapists by specialty, location, and even insurance coverage. It’s a great starting point to explore options in your area.

2️⃣ Ask Friends for Recommendations
Sometimes the best referrals come from those you trust. Don’t hesitate to ask friends or family if they know of a therapist they recommend.

3️⃣ Ask Your Doctor for a Referral
Your primary care physician can often provide recommendations based on your specific needs and connect you with trusted professionals in your area.

4️⃣ Search on Social Media Platforms
Many therapists have a presence on platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn, where they share their expertise. It’s a great way to get a feel for their approach and personality.

5️⃣ Search on Your Health Insurance Portal
If you’re using insurance, this is a crucial step. Check your insurance provider’s directory to find therapists who are covered under your plan.

Finding the right fit might take some time, but your mental health is worth the effort. 💛✨ Any questions about the process? Let us know in the comments!
