The devastating cuts to Medicaid and changes to Marketplace plans in the latest budget bill will terminate health coverage for millions of Americans and increase health care costs for everyone.

The U.S. Senate began its consideration of the budget bill that passed the U.S. House last month, which the Senate is set to begin voting on imminently. The Senate vote will be quickly followed by one in the House.

Thank you so much to Daniel & Amanda from Senator Ashley Moody’s & Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D.’s office for taking the time to hear out the concerns that American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network - ACS CAN has with the budget bill currently being considered.

Medicaid provides access to life-saving care for people in America fighting cancer, especially low-income individuals primarily from rural and underserved communities. Cancer is the second-highest cause of death in America, and more than 2 million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Medicaid covers cancer screenings, diagnostic tests, treatments, surgeries, prescription medications and follow-up care that give cancer patients the best chance after a life-changing diagnosis.
