In continued honor of Black History Month, we are recognizing the legacy of Dr. J. Robert Gladden, a monumental figure in the history of American orthopedics.

In 1949, Dr. Gladden became the first African American board-certified orthopedic surgeon. His leadership at Howard University and his focus on advancing surgical outcomes for musculoskeletal injuries set a new standard for the profession.

There is a direct clinical lineage from Dr. Gladden’s early work to the modern field of interventional orthopedics. His career was defined by a drive to improve the patient’s quality of life through better diagnostics and specialized treatment of the kinetic chain.

Today, we honor that spirit by continuing to innovate and seek non-surgical solutions that keep our community active and healthy.

Dr. Gladden was more than a surgeon; he was a trailblazer who proved that innovation and advocacy go hand-in-hand.

In celebration of , we are honoring Dr. Charles R. Drew (1904–1950), known as the "Father of Blood Banking."

While many know Dr. Drew for his lifesaving work during WWII, his scientific legacy is the very foundation of what we do at ROSM. By mastering the fractionation of blood, separating plasma from red blood cells, Dr. Drew created the blueprint for modern regenerative medicine.

The Regenerative Link: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a direct evolution of the techniques Dr. Drew perfected. Just as he pioneered the separation of blood into vital components to save lives on the battlefield, we use those same principles to concentrate growth factors and accelerate healing for our patients today.

We are proud to build upon the scientific excellence established by Dr. Drew as we continue to push the boundaries of orthopedic healing.

Bridging the gap between conservative care and invasive surgery. 🧬

Regenerative medicine is often misunderstood as just "regrowing parts." In reality, it’s a sophisticated field using your body’s own biology to treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Tech Talk Healthcare podcast featuring Dr. Nathan Yokel. He breaks down how innovative treatments like PRP and musculoskeletal ultrasound are filling the "treatment gap" for patients who aren't seeing results from physical therapy but aren't ready for, or don't need, surgery.

Key highlights from Dr. Yokel:
🔹 The importance of ultrasound for dynamic, real-time diagnosis.
🔹 How to augment the body's natural healing phases (Inflammatory, Proliferative, and Remodeling).
🔹 Why we should stop "compartmentalizing" pain and look at the whole kinetic chain.

A must-listen for anyone interested in the future of orthopedics and sports medicine.

Most patients with knee arthritis are told to "wait and see." They’re stuck in a gap between taking pills and getting a total knee replacement.

At ROSM, we believe that waiting for a joint to fail is not a plan.

In our latest article, Dr. John Ferrell discusses the reality of knee arthritis. We aren’t looking for a "miracle cure", we’re looking for Joint Preservation.

Highlights include:
🔹 Why arthritis is like high blood pressure (it's managed, not just "fixed").
🔹 New data showing how PRP and MFAT help even severe cases.
🔹 Why your MRI isn't your destiny.
🔹 How to get a Free First Evaluation for an honest second opinion.

Don't let arthritis dictate your activity level. Learn how we help you keep your natural joints longer.

Are you stuck in the "Treatment Gap"?

For many patients with hip arthritis, the traditional advice is: "Take some pills and wait until it’s bad enough for surgery."

At ROSM, we believe waiting for your body to get worse is not a plan. In our latest blog post, Dr. John Ferrell explains how Interventional Orthopedics fills that gap.

We’re moving away from the "mute button" approach of cortisone and toward treatments that actually help the joint environment heal.

What we cover:

✅Why "wait and see" might be the worst thing for your cartilage.
✅The difference between masking pain and repairing it.
✅How PRP and adipose tissue (fat) act as "fertilizer" and "cushions" for your hip.
✅Why ultrasound guidance is a requirement, not an option.

Don't wait until you're "bone on bone." Learn how to preserve your natural joint.
