The federal landscape is shifting and the naturopathic profession needs to stay informed and aligned. The AANP & AANMC are hosting a Community Town Hall on January 13 to share updates on federal advocacy impacting naturopathic education, including student loans, professional degree definitions, and accreditation-related issues. We’ll also discuss what’s ahead and how our community can mobilize together.

Join us on Thursday, January 15 at 8:00 pm ET for our Clinical Pearls For Managing Concussion and Persistent Concussion Symptoms in Naturopathic Practice webinar, with speaker Paul Hrkal, BKin, ND, sponsored by Aqua Omega.

Concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) represent complex, multisystem disorders that extend beyond the brain to involve widespread metabolic, endocrine, and inflammatory dysregulation. This presentation explores the emerging understanding of concussion as a whole-body pathology, emphasizing the interconnected roles of the gut-brain axis, autonomic nervous system, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis in symptom persistence and recovery. It highlights how cellular energy deficits, neuroinflammation, and barrier dysfunctions contribute to chronic post-concussion symptoms and introduces functional and nutritional strategies to mitigate these processes that can be incorporated into Naturopathic practice.

This webinar is approved for 1 General CE by the AANP & is sponsored by Aqua Omega.

Congratulations to Maggie Boomgaarden, ND, DABCL, who recently earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Clinical Lipidology (ABCL) while completing her integrative medicine ND residency at UC Irvine’s Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute.

This achievement reflects advanced training alongside cardiology and preventive medicine colleagues and represents an important step forward for interprofessional collaboration and referral awareness in advanced lipid and cardiometabolic care.

We love seeing NDs helping to raise the tide and expand integrative, collaborative care across disciplines.
