I help women get lean and become their best self. Commuting every day, working long hours in a male dominated environment was definitely a stressful environment. A number of months went by where I noticed not only the decline in my physical health, such as weight gain and breaking out at the age of 38 (Yikes!) and feeling nauseous while getting ready for my day, I was mentally broken. I did not know who I was anymore, I was just going through the manic motions. I took a step back and asked myself is this really the way I want to live my life? I hated what I did, and I did not receive any gratification about what I was doing. After doing some soul searching, looking back at what I loved to do for fun, what gave me mental and physical pleasure as well as strength and balance in my life was working out, being physcially fit. Whether this was working out in the gym, hiking or training for marathons and half marathons, I had such a passion for this outlet that I wanted to make it my full time job. I wanted to share my passion with other women who were perhaps in similar situations such as myself. To empower women to take back control in their life by providing ways such as unique custom workouts, small group beginner running groups, yoga and meditation sessions to become healthy mentally and physically.

Hiring a coach isn’t about finding the cheapest option, the trendiest program, or the person with the flashiest before-and-afters.

It’s about finding someone who understands your body, your goals, and your stage of life.

I coach women in midlife who want more than quick fixes. My clients build real strength, boost energy, and learn how to train smart—not just hard. I tailor programming around your lifestyle, navigating real life issues thrown your way, and schedule so that workouts work for you, not against you.

If you’re tired of cookie-cutter plans, fad diets, or coaches who don’t understand what it’s like to train in your 40s and 50s, then I’m your coach.

I am sure you have heard this phrase often the past few years..and you may be wondering the how, if you are currently and how to progress?

This phrase gets thrown around a lot, but what does it really mean?

Lifting heavy means using a weight that challenges you—not what someone else is lifting. It’s about reaching close to fatigue in a given rep range with good form. For some, that’s 10 lb dumbbells. For others, it’s 50 lbs. Both are valid.

In midlife, lifting weights becomes non-negotiable for preserving muscle, bone density, and metabolic health. But that doesn’t mean you need to jump into deadlifts and bench presses right away.

Where to start:

Choose full-body compound movements (squats, rows, presses).

Begin with bodyweight or light resistance to learn proper form.

Gradually increase the weight as your strength and confidence grow.

Aim for 2–3 sets of 6–12 reps where the last 2 reps feel challenging but doable.

Progress over perfection. The goal isn’t to lift the heaviest weight—it’s to build strength in a way that supports your body, hormones, and life.

Juli has been training with me online since May 2024.

Her progress has been steadily improving over the past 9 months.

🌟She has lost over 25 pounds in weight.

🌟Decreased her overall body fat by 7% to 21.6%.

🌟Her lean mass total is 121 pounds.

🌟Visceral fat, which is important to keep low, has changed by losing 1 pound to now having only 0.46 pounds of visceral fat.

Her nutrition has been adjusted over time to accommodate her energy level and needs. Overall, she is eating much more now than she did when she first started with me.

Not everyone’s journey is the same. It’s not always linear. The most important thing for anyone who is working with me or is interested in working with me is that patience and consistency is how you will achieve your goals - that I can promise!

If you give it your all and I mean really push yourself and step out of your comfort zone, use the tools and knowledge given, you will achieve your goals. 💕

Interested in working with me? Please send me an email to see if I’m a good fit for you.

Our generation grew up as cardio queens and eating low fat foods. If we did pick up a weight it was super light because we didn't want to 'bulk up' and look like a man.

Now research is clearly showing how important it is for us as we age to lift the heavy weights, and eat enough to fuel our bodies and brains. And most importantly to do this for sustainable life long results.

Most of us are under muscled. We lost muscle at an accelerated rate heading into our late 30's.

Muscle is your secret weapon. It keeps you metabolically healthy, supports strong bones, and lets you move, live, and eat more without thinking you need to do a 48 hour fast to de-bloat.

If you want to get stronger, be more energetic and overall FEEL and BE confident and healthy. Join a results driven program that will NOT be a quick fix but will provide sustainable and attainable results.

I was thinking hard about this yesterday. We don't need to regulate ourselves to the 1st of January to revamp our lives. 'Get healthy', go on yet another diet and/or start up another fitness program.

Fall seems to be a perfectly lovely time of year as the leaves are changing color, a shift in seasons to reflect on the previous 9 months and our accomplishments. Looking inward, reflecting and perhaps journaling.

What we would like to do better and how we can start that process now and head into the next year with a vision, a habit (s) and determination to strive for more.

If you want to make changes to your current behavior or lifestyle first you need to PLAN.

PLAN = The what and the how you are going to do whatever it may be...

Then IMPLEMENTATION ..

Implementation Intentions are specific plans that drive behavior by identifying cues toward the action by identifying cues towards action...

For example, using working out as an example, because that's what I coach. If you want to start working out or become consistent with your workouts set aside time to workout after your kids go to school, or during your lunch break. That way you mentally begin to associate this time with working out.
..
Next comes the 'COPING PLAN' and this will help anticipate or identify barriers that may come up and throw you off your routine. ..

For example if you are the VP of the tax division of a company and you are gearing up for the 4th quarter which you know every year is going to require late hours and more meetings you can plan for this first by brainstorming with your trainer to help plan. One option might be setting your alarm for 1 hour earlier in the morning to get in your workout. That way, if you have meetings or reports due that take you way past 8pm you will have already gotten in your workout and therefore not keep missing them due to last minute meetings and poor planning on your end.
..

If you are frustrated and stuck by your schedule that never seems to allow for YOU time and your workouts or how to eat healthier apply for coaching. https://www.ngagefitness.com/our-services

We’ve got 107 days left in the year!

It’s the perfect time to set 1-2 challenging yet achievable goals to tackle before the year ends.

What will you aim for?

I’d love to hear your plans!

A weight scale does not define you..

Your worth is not defined by a number on a scale.

Your intelligence is not defined by a number on a scale.

How YOU show up for yourself is a marker of worth.

Your kindness and worthiness for love is not defined by a number on a scale.

Your consistency and determination in achieving your goals is what is important.

Getting stronger physically = showing up consistently at the gym.

Last night I did something I normally don't do, stepped out of my comfort zone and it was fun!

When I was in college all they way into my early 30's and any woman who is a fellow Gen X'er can relate, I was a cardio queen! Stepbox class in my 20's wearing those horrifying leggins with a thong leotard over it.. (what was I thinking??). 😂

Then onto training for 1/2 and full marathons. Going to the gym but just lifting that cute 5lb-12lb dumbbells doing random s**t with no progression or consistency.

In my late 30's beginning to focus more on strength training, nailing down form and consistency. To my 40's and currently strength training but with much heavier weights, progressive overload. Some Zone 2 training and Sprint Interval Training thrown in weekly.

Since I was in my 40's I have not been a fan of workout classes, I personally find them not aiding me in achieving my goals and some of them honestly are too easy or just too boring.

I stepped out of my comfort zone last night, took a class aptly named SweatBox. It consists of HIIT that includes using weights, and using a bike for intense cardio intervals. The room turns dark and varied colored lights come on during the 60 min session indicating your intensity level for the particular round of exercises and you can make it as hard or as easy as you want by the weight you use.

My strength training background and Peloton riding in the past contributed to me pushing through the endurance part.
It wasn't easy, definitely challenging and something I will start doing 1-2 times a week as part of my cardio endurance to switch things up!

Why am I sharing this? To remind myself and hopefully this will speak to others. When I get too comfortable to step out of my comfort zone, more often and in all ways. It is too easy to stay in your same bubble of where you live, the people you surround yourself with, etc. Being comfortable is nice but it does not necessarily promote growth. Branching out promotes growth and learning more about yourself than perhaps you expect. ☺️
