The Swallowing Wellness Center is hiring 6 positions in preparation for its grand opening this summer in Bethesda MD. Positions will include:

- Fulltime SLP with adult dysphagia experience
- Fulltime SLP with pediatric dysphagia experience
- PRN SLP (preferably with a mix of adult and pediatric experience)
- Fulltime Radiological Technologist
- PRN Radiological Technologist
- Front Desk Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

Jim has always had a good sense of humor about how much his life has changed since his stroke left him with debilitating swallowing problems. He agreed to be a volunteer ‘patient’ for the Humbert Experiential Learning Program (HELP), first, to get a real update on his swallowing function. He has noted some changes and needs to know whether his swallowing ability is getting worse. But he also wants to share his story with practicing speech-language pathologists and answer your questions.

The decision-makers of the local nursing home that I visited appreciated the data and asked how they can contract Swallowing Wellness to have their SLP caseload evaluated. The facility SLP was friendly, willing and on-board. It was refreshing to communicate with a fellow SLP who was not defensive, instead she agreed that imaging is about helping patients, not invalidating her clinical abilities.
