After being bit by a brown recluse spider, Ronald had been to various hospitals over a span of two years, but the pain continued. Thankfully, he met our wound nurse, Carmen, who would help him heal and alleviate the pain. Ronald shared "I had awful pain before I came here. Awful, awful pain, every day, all day. And now I don't feel any pain." They meet every week for lunch to continue his care and make sure he has everything he needs to recover fully.

Su***de Prevention Awareness Month is a dedicated time each year when individuals, organizations and communities come together to raise awareness. This month serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the warning signs, provide support to those in need and promote mental health resources. It is a time to foster open conversations about mental health struggles, reduce stigma and encourage individuals to seek help when they are feeling overwhelmed or in crisis.

Call or text the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline if you are having suicidal thoughts. Together, we can break the stigma and build a better community of support. ***dePreventionMonth

Every patient sees something unique in artwork. 🎨 That’s the beauty of art—it can uplift, inspire, and provide comfort in ways words sometimes cannot. We’d like to thank Leigh Lambert for generously sharing your work with our hospital family.

Did someone say party? The CHRMC team recently attended Whitman-Walker's “Meet Max Robinson” community open house in Congress Heights!

We joined our neighbors, EOTR residents, and community organizations to tour the Max Robinson Center (beautiful!) and learn about their expanded services (like dental care!). Thanks for being our partner in providing accesible healthcare for our EOTR community!

Most parents will never get a call saying their child has been shot. But if that call comes, the team at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is ready to help.

Last Monday, a teenager ran up to our team member's car, shouting for help. Our team member, J., had just clocked out and was waiting at the stoplight, heading home to her own teenager. But she didn't hesitate to help — she put this child in the back of her car and sped back to the hospital, straight to the emergency department.

That's when our trauma team leaped into action. The teenager was stabilized and taken straight into surgery. And a family got to hold their son and brother again.

When you're a patient at CHRMC, you become our family. We're going to embrace you and care for you every step of the way.
