What really happens after your case reaches the Appeals Council?

On March 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm ET, NOSSCR is offering a rare opportunity to learn from someone who’s seen it from the inside.

Dennis Wasitis, a newly retired Attorney Analyst with 15+ years at the Appeals Council, will walk through how cases are evaluated and what advocates can do to strengthen their position on review.

You’ll learn:
* How briefs are actually read
* Common mistakes that hurt cases
* How unusual cases are routed
* Who makes the decisions
* When remands are most likely

This is practical, real-world guidance plus live Q&A to address your toughest Appeals Council challenges.

Register today to reserve your spot: https://nosscr.memberclicks.net/ac-strategy #!/

Please note: This is an interactive training and has not been pre-approved for CLE (self-submission may be available depending on jurisdiction).

When disability adjudication starts to feel like a game of rules and checkboxes, it’s real people who pay the price.

At the 2026 NOSSCR Spring National Conference, Stephen Sloan will explore how the system drifts from lived reality and what advocates can do to bring humanity back to the process.

From DDS incentives to vocational testimony economics to ALJ pressures, this session is about practical strategies that lead to fairer outcomes.

This is exactly why we gather, to sharpen our advocacy and better serve our clients.
