❤️‍🩹 Families in Gaza are living through unimaginable hardship.

Children arrive at clinics with severe injuries. Mothers struggle to feed their children. Elderly patients face chronic illnesses with nowhere to turn.

Amid the humanitarian crisis, SAMS teams are on the ground delivering lifesaving care—reaching thousands across Gaza through two fixed clinics and three mobile units providing health, dental, and mental health services.

We once walked out of Omar Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Aleppo after it was struck, leaving behind painful memories… but a hope that never faded.
Today, after years of resilience and perseverance, we have returned — to rebuild it and restore the pulse of life.
In collaboration with Noor Al-Hayat Charity Association, SAMS proudly reopens the doors of the hospital once again — keeping medicine a mission, and humanity our purpose.

14-year-old Badiaa from Syria, living in Lebanon since the war began, transformed her confidence and emotional awareness through SAMS’ “Happy Helping Hand” program in the Bekaa Valley. “I’ve learned to separate feelings from thoughts and respond with confidence,” she says.

🌍Today on World Mental Health Day, SAMS remains committed to delivering compassionate care and support to those impacted by conflict and crisis.

Over the years, SAMS has built strong MHPSS programs across Syria, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece—offering therapy for trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and depression; support groups and case management for survivors of gender‑based violence; children’s psychosocial care; and empowerment programs rooted in human rights.

These programs are crucial. They help build the mental health workforce, broaden access to quality care, and affirm that mental health must be a core pillar of humanitarian response.

Thousands of premature babies in Syria face this risk due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a preventable cause of blindness. With no national screening or trained specialists, many infants go undiagnosed.

In partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, SAMS is launching Syria’s first national ROP Telemedicine Program to screen, diagnose, and treat at-risk newborns—even in areas without specialized eye care.

Every donation gives a child the gift of sight—for the first time, and for a lifetime.

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, SAMS Jordan organized an insightful scientific symposium that brought together leading mental health experts, media professionals, prominent influencers from across Jordan, and representatives of international organizations.

The event featured in-depth discussions on raising awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and included stories and reflections from doctors and volunteers who recently returned from Gaza, sharing their extensive experiences in crisis and disaster response throughout the Arab region.

At SAMS, we believe that talking about mental health is a step toward healing and building stronger communities. Sharing human experiences, especially from those on the frontlines, inspires hope and compassion.
