‼️ Why injector credentials matter, more than you think!

A patient came to us two days after receiving nose filler from a gynecologist. 🚩 After the treatment, her skin had turned dark and painful. She was told it was “just bruising” and advised to ice it, multiple times. ⚠️

Still concerned, she went to the ER. They told her the wait would be over 24 hours and that they weren’t equipped to treat her. Instead, they advised her to go to a plastic surgeon’s office. That’s when she found us.

By the time she arrived, she had signs of vascular occlusion - when filler blocks blood flow. 🚨 It’s a serious complication that requires urgent care to prevent permanent damage.

Our team acted fast:
🔹 Dr. Quan, former plastic surgery fellow, administered hyaluronidase to help restore blood flow
🔹Dr. Wang evaluated the tissue and is managing follow-up
🔹Deb, our practice administrator, contacted multiple hyperbaric oxygen therapy centers across the DMV and secured same-day HBO therapy to support healing

She’s now under our care, and we’re treating her at no cost, because getting her the care she needs is what truly matters.

We later learned the provider who injected the filler was not only untrained in aesthetics, but also no longer board-certified by ABOG. 🛑 When we reported the issue to the product manufacturer, we found the provider didn’t have an active account, raising concerns about how the product was sourced. 🚩
