PHP vs. IOP — What’s the Difference?

Understanding the levels of care in mental health treatment is key to finding the right support. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers structured, daytime treatment for individuals requiring intensive support, while our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a more flexible, part-time approach to therapy. Each program is designed to meet different needs on the path to recovery.

Whether you're exploring options for yourself or a loved one, we’re here to help. Learn more by visiting us at https://psychinstitute.com/.

We had the privilege of partnering with the DC SUD Coalition and the broader recovery support community for a powerful and collaborative gathering focused on strengthening pathways to treatment. Our distinguished panel, moderated by Siobhan Morse, explored key barriers to treatment and shared best practice solutions aimed at enhancing connect-to-treatment pathways. The discussion emphasized the critical relationship between community-based substance use disorder (SUD) providers and hospital systems, highlighting the importance of seamless coordination and integration. This event served as an opportunity to:

• Showcase collaborative innovations in SUD treatment and care linkages
• Streamline and strengthen hospital-community partnerships
• Celebrate recovery and resilience within our communities

Together, we continue to build a more connected, compassionate and effective system-of-care for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders. Larry Gourdine also received the DC SUD Coalition Letter of Appreciation for Community Service and Advocacy.

PLEASE JOIN US TODAY from 10 am-1 pm for our First Responder Welcome Center Open House.

We are pleased to announce the completion of our First Responder Welcome Center. A dedicated space designed for our first responders and law enforcement personnel. This area offers peace, relaxation, and comfort — a place where those who serve our communities can pause to rest, refuel, and recharge.

We deeply recognize the selfless dedication and sacrifices made every day by those in Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement. It is our hope that this space provides both physical nourishment and emotional restoration for the vital work they do.

Doors will be open from 10am - 1pm, June 12th, where you will tour our newly completed welcome center, meet our staff, network with community members and enjoy light refreshments.

From all of us at PIW, Happy Pride Month!
