Uniformed Services Tax Preparation
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) volunteers cut the ribbon Monday to open the WRNMMC Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center in Building 1 (the Tower), 1st floor, Room 1643. To start the season, the tax center will be open for service from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday. The center may add an additional day as the April tax deadline day approaches. The center offers free tax assistance, including preparation and electronic filing of federal and state tax returns, to wounded warriors and their families, active duty members and their families, widows and widowers of Operations Just Cause, Iraqi and Enduring Freedom service members, reservists and guards on active duty more than 30 days, and retirees on a space-available basis.
