Behind every great convention is a team putting in countless hours behind the scenes — and this Saturday was one of our Lorton work days for NOVA Open!
Our crew came together to tackle the less glamorous, but incredibly important, work that helps make the convention run smoothly. We spent the day refining our new mat cart system, organizing and counting what felt like an endless supply of Monument Hobbies paints, and continuing prep for the nearly 100 art seminars we have planned this year. Every checklist completed and every box sorted gets us one step closer to an incredible event.
Like most busy prep days, we got so focused on the work that we forgot to take many pictures — but honestly, that says a lot about the energy in the room. Everyone was locked in, collaborating, solving problems, and getting excited for what’s ahead.
We did manage to capture one moment that perfectly represents what these weekends are really about: friends sitting together, sharing a meal, relaxing for a few minutes, and enjoying the community we’re building together.
That’s the heart of NOVA Open.
Not just the games, seminars, and events — but the people behind them and the friendships that make it all worthwhile.
Big thanks to everyone who came out and put in the work this weekend. We’re getting closer every day, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been building with all of you.
