As many of you know, Shafer Minnick has a deep passion for empowering others through group fitness, this is largely because of his own personal 100+ pound weight loss, his long struggle for acceptance and his deep love of music. In 2015, while rehabbing from an injury, he discovered a machine called a VersaClimber, decided that he could take my side hustle as a spin instructor, fuse it with his successful career in building and managing business units for other people and create DC's first VersaClimber fitness studio, PULSE House!
As PULSE House of Fitness grow and expand to fulfill our vision to be your one-stop House of Fitness for personalized results, community support and best-in-class cardio + strength expertise, we’re seeking a LoanWell Loan – a crowdsourced investment loan program.
Shafer, the team, and I are beyond excited to share that we have served nearly 10,000 class visits in just over four months! Additionally, we are bringing in an average of 115 NEW visitors per week and we have recurring revenue from more than 200 visitors per month! Lastly, and most importantly to you, since we're asking you to loan us money: we have already started making money! We have worked tirelessly to optimize our product economics, going from $8k in sales to $30k in sales in one month and decreasing payroll expenses by 60% since opening. The industry benchmark to reach break-even is two to three years, we are poised to achieve this milestone before our first anniversary!
So, why are the team and I asking for a loan then? As you can see above, we are continuing to increase customers and sales and decrease costs, however, one-time cost overruns from construction have reduced our cash reserves. We are in the process of seeking outside growth capital from investors. We need a bridge loan to ensure we have the cash available to grow the PULSE House brand while we secure that capital.
