Black Maternal Health Week may be over—but the work isn’t. 🖤
Staying engaged means turning awareness into action. Here are tangible ways to keep the conversation going and make a real impact:
🎬 Host a documentary screening
Gather your community and watch powerful stories like Aftershock or Birthing Justice. Create space for dialogue, reflection, and collective learning.
📚 Read and share a book
Start with “Fatal Inequality” by Diederik Lohman or “Reproductive Injustice” by Loretta J. Ross. Even better—form a small book club to discuss insights and action steps.
🎧 Listen to a podcast
Tune into shows like Birthright or The Black Mamas Matter Show to hear firsthand experiences, expert voices, and ongoing advocacy efforts.
🏛️ Support legislation that protects moms
Learn about and advocate for policies like the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act. Call your representatives, sign petitions, and stay informed about local maternal health initiatives.
This isn’t a moment—it’s a movement. Keep showing up, keep learning, and keep pushing for change.
