BOMA International Advocacy staff listening in to Chairman French Hill's (R-AR-2) opening statement during Day 1 of the House Financial Services Committee's (HFSC) two-day markup.

Included in the markup among the long list of monetary and banking bills is the bipartisan Housing for the 21st Century Act (H.R.6644) - introduced just this week - which aims to advance practical, solutions-oriented housing policy.

Chairman Hill, Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D-CA-43), as well as Housing and Insurance Subcommittee Chairman Mike Flood (R-NE-1) and subcommittee Ranking Member Emmanuel Cleaver (D-MO-5) introduced the legislation together. These same leaders are expected to shepherd the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) through the subcommittee and full committee in 2026.

BOMA signed onto a letter supporting the housing legislation this week along with a multitude of our industry peers.
