Yoga NoMa Yoga NoMa offers reasonably priced movement classes taught by experienced professionals. Refresh your mind. Rejuvenate your body. Reconnect with your community.

Yoga NoMa is community oriented at its core. Our doors are open to new and seasoned practitioners alike. Though styles and intensity levels of classes will vary, Yoga NoMa classes are geared to consciously connect breath with movement, transforming the physical body practice into something sweet and special: a mind-body practice that helps our community relax, refresh, and reconnect. We are an experienced group of talented, dedicated practitioners. Yoga NoMa teachers pledge to maintain their own practice so that they can, with integrity, best serve our students. Yoga NoMa volunteers commit to keeping the space physically and energetically clean and full of lightness and warmth. Together, we serve.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. As BIPOC studio owners, it is especially important for us know to know our shared histories and how the Black civil rights movement paved the way for so many others after them.

Take this month as an opportunity to learn more and educate others.

To gain more flexibility, it is worth practicing yoga regularly and consistently in order to build the muscle memory; take your time though, and be patient!

On Day 30, remember that yoga can be a personal journey of exploration into one’s mind, as well as their body. To be able to help others to begin to embark on their journey makes it all the more possible to realise the magic of yoga. After all, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the
self.” The Bhagavad Gita

On Day 29, we’re focusing on balance! Ease into your strength for that headstand. Stretch deep into that backbend. You don’t have to do it perfectly
the first time; you just have to start it. If you fall out of the pose, get back into it. If you don’t have the strength for it, keep doing variations until it feels right.

It might take you a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or even years, but that’s okay - yoga is learning things about yourself on your own, individual journey!

Day 28 is all about remembering that life is a continuous and unstoppable journey. Successes and failures are by product and temporary in nature and we have to keep on moving no matter what the outcome.

So today, lean into your courage within and continue on your own path. Tag someone that you want to remind of this!

“The longest journey is the journey ‘inwards’”- Dag Hammarskjöld.

Our ‘self’ is made up of many aspects, both ‘physical’ and ‘non-physical’, spiritual, emotional – each different yet related, all of our evolved interests, experiences, goals, ambitions, and curiosities involve both ‘physical’ and ‘spiritual’ aspects.

This is not a journey along one road to a single destination. We need to define, sort, inspect each aspect, travel along each road, pause and absorb what each ‘area’ contains and reveals. 🙏🏼

On Day 26, remember that yoga is a path for living that can be transformative. Each yogi has the opportunity to determine where on this path they find the transformative power that they are seeking. 💫

What are you looking for in your life? What are you willing to include in your life to meet your goal? 🙏🏼

On Day 25, a gentle reminder that exercise and movement aren’t meant to be a punishment - It’s not something you have to do because you ate something ‘bad’.

What if we looked at exercise as simply something that you liked doing for yourself?

On Day 23, this is your reminder to NOT GIVE UP! 💓

The reason most people never achieve their dreams is because they simply gave up. Remember that the times when its most important to persevere are the times when you will be tested the most.

Tag someone that needs this reminder! 🤗👇🏼
