Petworth Peanuts is hosting a Bike Parade at the Friends of the Soldier's Home Fourteenth Annual Independence Day Festival! The parade will start on the pavement around 6pm near the food trucks. Friends of the Soldiers Home is a 501 (c)(3) organization serving the Armed Forces Retirement Home and the Washington DC community. In recognition of the sacrifices of military service, Friends of the Soldiers Home connects citizens and veterans in a relationship that enhances quality of life for veteran and citizen alike. We host weekly volunteer events as well as annual festivals to bring members of the community onto the 200+ acre estate to socialize with veterans and continue an oral history from those who served in WWII, Korea & Vietnam.
