Have you ever thought about the steep rise in holistic care practice in the West and realized there is a profound misunderstanding amongst many regarding what they actually mean for us?

IMHO, demystifying holistic practices is key to increasing accessibility and opening up options for many of us who are frustrated with cookie cutter responses to our individual needs and health conditions.

While Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda have been around for thousands of years, Functional Medicine is more recent.
They all have a bunch of commonalities though, which is testament to their whole body approach as opposed to silo-ing parts of the body and treating them in isolation.

If your basic tests are revealing nothing or are being dismissed as “normal” and you feeling anything BUT normal, it’s time to dig deeper. Ask your provider to run some additional tests to get to the root of the problem, whether it is metabolic or hormonal or a combination of the two. 🥸🥸

Self-advocacy goes a long way, especially in less understood and under researched conditions like PCOS. 🥺🥺🎈

Hey, if you’re not feeling happy about the newness of the new year - I hear you! If you’re not overwhelmed looking at other people’s lists of resolutions and have no desire to follow suit - I hear you! We’re still in winter, when our bodies are designed to slow down, reflect, and rest.

True new year, as nature designed it, only kicks in the spring! So hang in there, and don’t be so hard on yourself.

January was such a roller coaster in all possible ways! There were moments of lightness and love, and days when it all felt too hard and heavy.

Grateful for some of the sunny days despite chilling temperatures and news alike, warm hugs, good food, and new memories despite all the chaos around here. 🎈

✅ Eating naturally gluten free meals in India without the use of added preservatives is totally possible!

✅Celebrating millets (jowar, bajra, ragi, jow) as well as chickpea flour (besan), corn (makai) and buckwheat (kuttu) just makes it so much easier.

✅And of course there’s always rice, that’s not just easier to digest, but can be incredibly calming for an inflamed gut. Pair with the right proteins and fats to reduce its glucose spike 💕

💯Shoutout to mung beans (whole green moong dal) for being versatile enough to make it as a Dal, a soup, soaked & blitzed into a batter to make high protein vegan and gluten free crepes, or soaked and sprouted to be had as a snack with seasonings.

💕Incredibly grateful to my mom who makes it all look so easy (especially the softness of the flatbreads) and all my incredible hosts both at homes and restaurants that made it all so seamless, natural and delicious 😋 🥳🎉🇮🇳
