This rise in cases of the highly transmissible Delta variant and severe cases for unvaccinated pregnant and postpartum women are deeply concerning. I continue to be extremely pro-vaccine for pregnant women. In April, the New England Journal of Medicine released a study with data from a CDC monitoring app, registry, and the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VEARS) -- interpretation of it thus far has not shown an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes above baseline in unvaccinated populations.
