This rise in cases of the highly transmissible Delta variant and severe cases for unvaccinated pregnant and postpartum women are deeply concerning. I continue to be extremely pro-vaccine for pregnant women. In April, the New England Journal of Medicine released a study with data from a CDC monitoring app, registry, and the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VEARS) -- interpretation of it thus far has not shown an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes above baseline in unvaccinated populations. Safe supervision of children in the water is one of the parenting themes that I am the most strict about. In this article, a former Coast Guard rescue describes it as often “deceptively quiet," not a violent, splashing call for help. Personally, I loved ISR lessons for my children.

Miscarriages are not only a devastating experience for women, but often for their partners as well. I liked that this article explored a variety of experiences with miscarriage and the many ways people express grief.

While many men want to support their partners, it is important to create space for them to grieve, too.

So enlightening that the world is waking up and realizing breastfeeding women and their infants should be kept together as much as possible -- even at the Olympics. Can’t wait to watch all the women athletes compete this summer! What events are you most excited to watch? Share in the comments!

Initially, COVID restrictions wouldn't allow nursing athletes to bring their babies to the games.
