We look forward to working with his administration to make progress against cancer, including . was thrilled to attend the Breast Cancer Awareness Month reception at the Vice President's residence in 2012 where she met the Vice President and Dr. Biden. BCW also was honored when Dr. Biden visited our clinic in Community of Hope FQHC in 2018.

As we honor all veterans today, it's important to remember that many still suffer from physical & emotional wounds due to their service. Women veterans also may be at a higher risk of due to exposure to toxins during service. Exposure may be compounded by factors that predispose African American women, overrepresented in the military, to earlier & more aggressive breast cancer, such as dense breast tissue, lack of access to healthcare resources & underrepresentation in breast cancer research.
