Celebrating Kwanzaa ❤️🖤💚

Kwanzaa invites us to reflect on the Nguzo Saba—the seven principles that guide collective care, liberation, and community well-being. These values are deeply aligned with the work we do every day in support of Black maternal health.

✨ Umoja (Unity): Standing together to uplift Black mothers, babies, and families.
✨ Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): Affirming the right of Black birthing people to define and advocate for their own care.
✨ Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility): Building systems of shared care, accountability, and community support.

This season, we honor our ancestors, celebrate our culture, and reaffirm our commitment to safe, equitable, and culturally responsive care. May these principles continue to guide us—not only during Kwanzaa, but all year long.

Which Kwanzaa principle resonates most with you this season? Share with us in the comments.✨

Radical Rest isn’t just a perk—it’s our practice. 💜

At Mamatoto Village, caring for families begins with caring for the people who support them. Our annual Radical Rest Break (Dec 20 – Jan 4) allows our team to restore, reflect, and return grounded in purpose.

Rest is not separate from the work.
Rest is what makes the work possible.

See you in the new year!
