We’re calling out to our village! 🤲🏾💫

The Cypher Collective is gearing up for The Learning Lab at the NBMA conference , and baby… this space is about to pour into Black learning midwives in the best way.

This hands-on lab is where students tap into real clinical skills, ancestral knowing, and the grounding that makes our care so powerful. And to make it everything it needs to be , we’re calling on our village. 🤎

We are accepting supply donations and financial contributions to help us build an immersive, well-equipped learning space for future midwives.

✨ THE LINEAGE CONTINUES ✨
Today we honor and uplift another brilliant light in our learning midwife community — Tarynn Anthony.

Based in Belton, TX, Tarynn is a first-year student midwife walking the PEP pathway with intention, humility, and deep reverence for the legacy of Black birth workers. Her commitment to physiologic birth, informed choice, and holistic family-centered care is already shaping the future of her community in a meaningful way.

For Tarynn, Black Midwifery isn’t just history , it’s the foundation. Even when overshadowed, it continues to breathe life, resilience, and protection into our families. And she’s determined to carry that torch forward where representation is needed most.

✨ Her goal: to educate, support, and help heal her community physically, mentally, and emotionally.

✨ Our goal: to surround her with the love, resources, and community she deserves.

Today we honor a monumental milestone — 100 years of celebrating Black History Month. What began as a vision to preserve, center, and uplift Black excellence has grown into a global movement of remembrance, resistance, and reclamation.

Black History Month was founded by historian Carter G. Woodson, who understood that a people disconnected from their history are vulnerable to having their worth erased. His work planted the seeds for generations to learn, remember, and stand proudly in the fullness of Black brilliance.

Here at The Cypher Collective, we carry that torch with intention.

Our mission is to uplift, educate, and empower Black midwives — honoring our ancestral roots while supporting present-day practitioners and nurturing future generations. Throughout this entire month, we are centering Black midwifery because our presence in birth work is not new. We have always been here. We have always been the blueprint.

This education is free food for thought — nourishment for the mind, the spirit, and the lineage.

Black midwives have:
• Safeguarded our communities through centuries
• Held knowledge when institutions shut us out
• Protected Black families when systems failed

And we are still standing. Still serving. Still rising.

🖤 To the ancestors — we thank you.
🖤 To today’s midwives — we honor you.
🖤 To the next generation — we see you.

Happy Black History Month.
Let’s build. Let’s heal. Let’s thrive. 🌀

MIDWIFE MOMENTS ✨
Featuring Learning Midwife Audrey

Prenatal visits aren’t just check-ins.
They’re where trust is built.
Where fears get named out loud.
Where we talk through what normal looks like—and what it means when birth takes a turn.

So when things shift, when the rhythm changes, the foundation is already there.
My client trusts my judgment because we’ve been walking together long before labor begins.

And in the corner, my preceptor—watching, listening, offering those quiet, validating smiles that say yes, you’re doing this right.
That kind of support? Priceless.

This work is sacred.
It’s a blessing to be invited into families’ lives at such a tender, powerful moment.
To witness love, preparation, vulnerability—and soon, the return of an ancestor through this baby.

I’m deeply honored to be here.
Can’t wait to welcome this little one earthside.
