Friday our residents celebrated Holi - the festival of colors - with music, movement, and vibrant cultural tradition.

We were honored to host Nirathi Rao, founder of Rhythmaya Dance, a prominent Indian dance school in the DC metro area serving nearly 500 students across Arlington and Falls Church. Rhythmaya offers Bollywood and Kathak classes for all ages and is known for its commitment to cultural education, performances, and community engagement.

Instead of traditional colored powder, we tossed bright, colorful feathers — filling the room with joy, laughter, and springtime energy.

Experiences like this reflect our commitment to meaningful programming that celebrates culture, creativity, and lifelong learning.

February Life Reflections: Black History Month

This month, our Life Reflections series featured resident Tina Hobson, who spoke about her lived experiences in the Civil Rights Movement and the collective fight for our civil rights in Washington, DC.

She also highlighted the legacy of her husband, Julius Hobson, a prominent Washington, DC Civil Rights Movement activist, while emphasizing the shared advocacy and community leadership that shaped the movement.

Last month’s snowstorm reminded us what true community and dedication look like.
While the city slowed down, members of our team stayed overnight to ensure residents remained safe, comfortable, and supported without interruption.
We’re grateful this week’s anticipated storm was less severe, but it gave us another opportunity to reflect on the compassion and commitment of the staff who always show up for our residents.
