Once again, we will be sitting together in person at 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon, August 3. Please come at least ten minutes early if you would like free meditation instruction. Join us for meditation, tea, cookies, and a dharma talk or video and lively discussion at Seekers Church in Takoma, DC. The setting is open, light, and spacious, and it is just one block from the Takoma Metro Station. We are wheelchair-accessible, from the street door and also the back entrance.

Starting at 1:30 pm, we offer sitting and walking meditation practice until 2:30, followed by tea and snacks, and at 3:00 pm, a dharma video and discussion.

This Sunday鈥檚 dharma presentation will be short and pithy, with relevance to new meditators as well as to those more seasoned.

Meditation instruction is available free of charge. Please try to come early if you would like instruction.

Let鈥檚 join in community practice. Come alone, or bring a friend. All are welcome.

May 6 and 13, 2023: What if we could resolve conflict by employing compassion and meditation?

Join us for an exciting on-line program in May 2023 called Responding to Conflict with Compassion. The program has two parts: Session 1: May 6 and Session 2 May 13: 1:00-4:00 pm ET on each Saturday.

This session is free for DC members. For others, please do not allow money to get in the way. Please pay what you can when you register.

Description: This highly interactive 2-part workshop held via Zoom will explore the nature of conflict and will empower the participants to learn to respond to conflict, violence, and division with strength, clarity, and compassion as opposed to reacting to it with fear, avoidance, or aggression. This workshop will also explore how four principles of conflict transformation, namely: tuning inward, observation without evaluation, expansion and exploration

Presenter Bio: Henry Yampolsky, J.D. is a best-selling author of Dis-Solving Conflict from Within: an Inner Path for Conflict Transformation. He is a mediator, educator, lawyer, and multi-time TEDx speaker. Henry serves as the Assistant Director for Education, Outreach, and Conflict Resolution at Virginia Tech鈥檚 Office for Equity and Accessibility and teaches conflict resolution, mediation, and peace building as part of Virginia Tech鈥檚 Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention.
