This , we’re reminded that voters overwhelmingly express support for marriage equality and strongly advocate against government intervention in gender-affirming care. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

At a time when national, state, and local governments have become increasingly hostile toward the rights of q***r people - and especially trans people - we know that is one of the most powerful tools we have for defending and expanding rights and protections for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Today and every day, we will continue to use the people’s tool to get us closer to q***r liberation. Happy pride, and happy resistance. ❤️‍🔥

Two-thirds of the BISC comms team is in St. Louis alongside many of our amazing partners at ProgressNow’s Commference! It’s great to be in Missouri - a state with a rich history of direct democracy, where voters have used the people’s tool to expand Medicaid, enact paid sick leave for workers, protect and expand reproductive freedom, and much more.

But right now, in Missouri is under attack. Just last night, the Missouri legislature forced a repeal of the paid sick days requirement in Proposition A, which Missouri voters passed in November. This is an outright attack on the . The repeal of paid sick leave will take effect in late August - four months after the law has gone into effect and hundreds of thousands of Missouri workers have been earning for the first time.

BISC and our partners are not backing down. We will continue to fight for Missouri workers and ensure the will of the people prevails. Now is the time to join the movement to . Missouri is worth fighting for, and we are prepared to fight.

In our first session of the day, BISCuits Quentin, Jennifer, and Hillary-Anne led us in the inspiring plenary, “Election Connection: Celebrating the Wins That Build Movements.” We know that ballot measure campaigns are not just about winning on Election Day — they’re about building power, engaging communities, and laying the groundwork for long-term change.
