Big congrats to Dr. Sharlene Ottley! 🎉✨

This past Friday, our Director of Community Outreach & Research was honored at ASHA’s annual convention in DC, receiving a Certificate of Recognition for her outstanding impact in Preschool–Grade 12 education.

Such a huge achievement as ASHA represents more than 241,000 audiologists, SLPs, and hearing & speech scientists. We’re so proud! 💙👏

Gray Health Equity Award (DCHA) which honors individuals and organizations in the DC area who have significantly reduced disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.

It's award season at River! Head of School and Founder Nancy Mellon has won the DCHA's 2025 Vincent C. Gray Health Equity Award which honors individuals and organizations in the DC area who have significantly reduced disparities in health care access and outcomes. For over 25 years, Nancy has tirelessly worked to advance hearing health and equity through The River School, Potomac River Clinic and beyond. Her leadership continues to change lives, and this award is a wonderful reflection of her impact. Way to go, Nancy!
