It's Wayback Wednesday, so let’s take a trip down memory lane.

In early 2023, Dr. Ullrich reached a significant milestone in his career by performing his first cataract surgery using light adjustable lenses (LAL)—an innovative technology that allows patients to fine-tune the lens power to achieve the best possible vision.

According to an FDA study, patients who received light adjustable lenses followed by custom adjustments were twice as likely to hit that perfect 20/20 vision—no glasses needed—compared to those with standard monofocal lenses.

Curious if cataract surgery using LAL is right for you? 📞 Call us at 636-239-1650 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Ullrich today.

Happy Tell-the-Truth Thursday! Today, let’s squash a common—yet dangerous—myth about glaucoma.
❌ If I had glaucoma, I’d know. I’d feel it or see the symptoms.
✅ Glaucoma is known as the “silent thief of sight” for a reason. Most forms of glaucoma have no warning signs—until significant, irreversible vision loss has already occurred. The only way to detect it early is through a comprehensive eye exam.

Concerned about glaucoma? Let's get ahead of it. Call now to book an appointment with one of our eye specialists: (636) 239-1650.

September is Sports Eye Safety Month. | Did you know that more than 600,000 sports-related eye injuries occur every year? Roughly 13,500 of these result in permanent vision loss.

It only takes one flying elbow, one stray ball, or one bad bounce. And boom—you’re off the court with a corneal abrasion or retinal tear. But, unlike jerseys and gloves that can be reordered, you only have one pair of eyes, so protect them at all costs.

Here at Advanced Sight Center, we take eye safety seriously. We offer specialized sports and safety glasses, designed to provide the ultimate protection you need and enhance your visual performance no matter your sport or activity.

To schedule an appointment with our optical boutique, call (636) 239-1650 now.

🛀 Take a bath so long you forget what year it is.
🥗 Eat with your whole heart. Calories are off duty.

🚫 Not all summer surprises are good ones. Aside from the warm-weather adventures and good vibes, conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye, can pop in uninvited—and it spreads faster than juicy gossip over coffee.

Don’t let it put a damper on your summer fun! Here’s how to keep pink eye at bay:

🧼 Wash your hands often.
⬜ Don’t share towels, sheets, and makeup with someone with pink eye.
🙅‍♀️ Avoid touching your eyes, especially with dirty hands.
🧽 Keep shared surfaces squeaky clean.

Pink eye is usually mild; it resolves on its own after a week or two. However, don’t brush it off if you notice:

👁️ Eye pain
💡 Sensitivity to light (especially if it’s intense)
🌫️ Blurry vision
💧 Thick discharge
🌶️ Deep redness in the whites of your eyes

If these symptoms show up, come see us for proper treatment. Call (636) 239-1650 to schedule an appointment. https://bit.ly/3mhFImM

Going in for a cataract surgery consultation with Dr. Ullrich? Make the most of your appointment by asking the right questions. Here are some worth jotting down:

🔹 What are the risks and benefits of cataract surgery?
🔹 Will both eyes be done at the same time?
🔹 How long is the recovery process?
🔹 What should I expect on surgery day?
🔹 Will the cataract come back?
🔹 What are my lens options, and how do they affect my vision after surgery?
🔹 Will I still need glasses afterward?
🔹 What’s the difference between monofocal and multifocal lenses?

If you need to book an appointment, call (636) 239-1650.

Happy truth-be-told Tuesday! Today, let’s dispel a common misconception about astigmatism.

❌ Astigmatism is a contagious or blinding eye disease.
✅ Astigmatism is not an eye disease, and it’s neither contagious nor blinding. It’s simply an imperfection in the curvature of the dome-shaped outer layer of your eye called the cornea. Astigmatism is very common and totally correctable with glasses, contacts, or in some cases, surgery.

Need treatment for astigmatism? Call now to book an appointment with one of our eye specialists: (636) 239-1650.
