The YMCA of Washington County is excited to offer FREE swim lessons for Levels 1–3 this April for our community! 🏊‍♂️ These lessons are made possible thanks to a grant and the Larry Lampkin Memorial Fund – Larry’s Lessons.

Registration opens Tuesday, March 31st and spots will be first come, first served. You can only reserve spots by calling the Washington Y 319-653-2141.

If the participant is not currently a YMCA member or has never participated in a YMCA program, a non-member application MUST be completed before March 31st. Applications can be filled out by stopping by the Washington Y during open hours.

Once your registration spot is secured, a signed form will be required. This can be completed by scanning the QR code on the flyer or by using the provided linkhttps://washingtony.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/41/2026/03/Safety-Around-Water-Participant-Enrollment-and-Consent-Form-1.pdf

Please be patient when calling the Washington YMCA on registration day, as phone lines are expected to be very busy due to the high demand for swim lessons with summer just around the corner.

Note: These free swim lessons are limited to one-time use. Participants enrolled in this free session will be charged the regular fee for any future YMCA swim lesson sessions.

The Kalona Y will be a busy place this weekend with the Kalona Home Show! The gym courts will be closed from Thursday-Saturday. Foreverwell classes will be moved to the exercise room on Thursday and Friday.
Be sure attend the Home Show on Friday from 4-8pm and Saturday 9am-3pm
