"The melody that the loved one played upon the piano of your life will never be played quite that way again, but we must not close the keyboard and allow the instrument to gather dust. We must seek out other artists of the spirit, new friends who gradually will help us to find the road to life again, who will walk the road with us."
— Joshua Loth Liebman

Our Story

Since 1872...

Gill has become a tradition for Washington area families. We would like to take this opportunity to share with you our heritage of service of over 100 years.

Upon his return from the Civil War in 1864, Joseph A. Gill, an accomplished cabinet maker, took employment with the Bonham Bros. Furniture & Undertaking Co. Upon the death of one of the Bonham brothers in 1872, Mr. Gill acquired his half interest in the company, and thus, Bonham & Gill Undertaking Co. came into being.
