Sending a big thank you to Nextdoor for supporting our department through their Volunteer Fire Department Fund. Their $1500 award will go towards funding the replacement of our power cots in our ambulances. Programs like these make a huge difference in small communities like ours.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Shown below is another example of equipment we have purchased with funding from Give Local Piedmont. This lift system is great for getting patients to a seated position to allow for an easier transfer. Your donations allow us to continue to purchase equipment and tools to provide a better level of care.

Have you ever been curious about what your donation go towards?

Today’s example are a set of AEDs purchased for our Engine and Tanker. AEDs are an important link in the chain of survival for out of hospital cardiac arrest. Not only will these AEDs serve to protect the lives of patients and victims but our firefighters as well.

Funding for this project came in part from Give Local Piedmont. We are registered for GLP again this year and excited to continue to serve our community with the funding you provide. If you’re able, consider donating at the link below.

Please join us in congratulating Karen Bradley and Shannon Ennis on their release by the OMD as EMTs for Company 1. These dedicated ladies passed their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam last year and have been answering E911 calls to complete their protocol requirements. Both serve the community in the ambulance and behind the scenes here at WVFR.

Open burn prohibition ends tonight but please still be very cautious.

‼️ Effective tonight, at midnight, the Rappahannock County Administrator will end the open burning prohibition that was put in place on March 26, 2025. County staff will continue to monitor conditions to determine if another prohibition should be enacted during the spring wildfire season.

‼️ While local circumstances no longer call for a local open burning prohibition, the 4pm Virginia Burn Law remains in effect through April 30th.
